We are general contractors and equipment suppliers specializing in the hospitality industry in the New York Metropolitan area.

Founded in 1945 by the late Frank Parlamis, FPI continues to operate with the same principles that its founder instilled some 70 years ago. A carpenter and craftsmen, Frank started his business constructing many coffee shops and diners for the exploding greek immigrant population. Known for building "the indestructible restaurant", Frank and his brother Spiro began to bring their children and family into their operation. Frank's son, the late Michael F. Parlamis, PE, operated the business until his passing in 2013, and brought a new dynamic including architectrual and engineering services to FPI. Michael, a graduate of MIT and a construction professional who worked on numerous NYC skyscrapper projects, handled all professional filings and DOB forms for all Parlamis projects.

Currently headed by Michael's son Alexander Parlamis, FPI continues to build on its impeccable reputation for handling projects with unique mechanical, electrical, plumbing and construction issues.

We add value by identifying and implementing out of the box solutions for our clients, to better serve their operations and increase their profit margin. Through value-engineering, forecasting, and packaging construction, equipment and furnishings, Alex and his team continue to please the hospitality industry's brightest and best.

Frank Parlamis, Inc. has been building in NYC for the better part of a century and we are familiar with the ever-changing construction codes in New York. Known for our quality construction spanning our many years in the hospitality industry, we construct the "indestructible" store. We have an in-house millwork shop and a very seasoned and reliable group of sub-contractors that we work with very closely.

While our construction projects are mostly non-union, we also do union prevailing-scale projects. Frank Parlamis, Inc. has completed projects of every size, scope, and finish level, working with many award-winning architects and designers. Who We Are

Alexander A. Parlamis


Alexander graduated Lehigh University and worked initially in real estate investment banking. At Palisades Financial Group, he specialized in complex capital structuring for real estate transactions nationwide, closing over $100 million in real estate financing transactions. For the past 16 years, Alex has worked with his late father, Michael F. Parlamis to expand and diversify the family business. He has served as general contractor and designer on a number of projects completed by F. Parlamis, Inc.

He designs restaurants "from the back of the house to the front of the house," and his knowledge of commercial kitchen design has made him an invaluable asset to many hospitality projects. Alex and his wife, Joanne, reside in Bergen County, NJ with their three children.
